The suction plates PX described on this page are installed as standard on all OCTOPUS systems and, therefore, can be supplied as a spare or replacement part.
They are made with anodised aluminium sheets with calibrated holes equidistant from each other and coated with a special perforated foam rubber with two different thicknesses: 15 mm for suction plates of the PX range; 30 mm, for special suction plates of the P2X range.
The foam rubber is also perforated at the calibrated holes, but its holes have a diameter of 15 mm. The use of calibrated holes allows for exact calculation of the flow rate of the vacuum generator to be used, to ensure that, even in the presence of losses due to transpiration or even in case of failure to cover the object to be gripped, a minimum sufficient level of vacuum remains for gripping and handling the load.
Their lifting force was calculated considering a level of vacuum of at least -75 Kpa, the total surface of the holes within the foam rubber and a factor of safety 3.
