Honeywell has expanded our HIH Series Humidity sensors to include a Surface Mount Device (SMD) product line: The new HIH-5030/5031. The HIH-5030/31 Series complements our existing HIH-4030/4031 line of SMD humidity sensors by operating at lower supply voltage (down to 2.7 VDC),allowing for greater application flexibility, especially in applications that are battery operated. SMD packaging on tape and reel allows for use in high volume, automated pick-and-place manufacturing, eliminating lead misalignment to printed circuit board through-holes. The HIH-5030/31 Series consists of Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS)-based humidity sensors that use capacitive technology to provide an analog voltage output in a solderable SMD package. The HIH-5031's hydrophobic filter is used in industrial and medical condensing environments.
